Emissions to Air
RPA reviewed the current level of emissions of fluorinated greenhouse gases from refrigerated transport and insulation foams used in construction for the European Commission. The study assessed the costs of possible solutions to reduce emissions of HFCs, including the use of more environmentally-friendly alternatives.
RPA developed a risk assessment method to be used by local authorities to determine the extent of regulatory oversight needed for different processes covered by the Local Authority Air Pollution Control regime. Read more…
Climate Change
RPA prepared a guide for managers on the potential impacts of climate change for business and how managers could best prepare for the potential risks and make climate change an opportunity.
RPA reviewed past, current and future trends in public expenditure, high level policy directions for agriculture, conservation and flood management of the Somerset Moors and Levels. The aim was to assess options for future sustainable management, in the light of future climate change. We also participated in a study to develop practical guidance on how to manage water resources in a changing climate.
RPA undertook a study for the UK Climate Impacts Programme (UKCIP) to develop a decision-making framework to take into account the risks and uncertainties in climate change. The study included reviews of relevant literature, data gathering for case studies and involvement with two workshops with stakeholders.
