New Contracts

10/2013:  DecaBDE work for ECHA

DecaBDE is an organohalogen substance which is used as a flame retardant. ECHA intends to submit a Restrictions Dossier by 1 August 2014 and RPA has been contracted by ECHA to collect and provide relevant information on the markets, uses, releases of, and alternatives for DecaBDE.  Read more.

01/2013:  Construction Products Regulation (CPR)

The European Commission tasked RPA to carry out an analysis of existing schemes which provide information on the content of construction products.

01/2013:  Consumer Credit Directive (CCD)

Risk & Policy Analysts (RPA) and its partners - Milieu and EPRD - were commissioned by the European Agency for Health and Consumers (EAHC) in cooperation with the European Commission (DG SANCO) to undertake an in-depth review of how Member States have implemented (or not) the legal choices which were provided under the CCD and what impacts may be attributable to these legal choices.

11/2012:  Restrictions on Cadmium in Plastics (ECHA)

The European Commission requested the European Chemicals Agency (ECHA) to prepare an Annex XV dossier to consider whether the use of cadmium compounds in certain plastics should be subject to further restrictions. RPA were contracted by ECHA to collect and provide relevant information on the markets, uses, releases of and alternatives for this use of cadmium and its compounds. Read more.

08/2012:  Environmental Risk Assessment Services (ERAS)

RPA has been commissioned to support the Environment Agency in the supply of research and development services for a Framework Contract on Environmental Risk Assessment Services.

07/2012:  EU Vehicle Charging Systems (DG Ent)

The European Commission's Directorate General for Enterprise and Industry has recently assigned RPA to carry out a study to assess the costs and benefits of adopting certain electric vehicle plug and socket charging systems within the European Union.

05/2012:  Pressure Equipment Directive and CLP Regulation

RPA is assisting the European Commission’s Directorate General for Enterprise and Industry to assess the implications of aligning the Pressure Equipment Directive with the Classification, Labelling and Packaging (of Chemicals) Regulation. Read more.

04/2012:  DG Maritime Affairs and Fisheries Framework Contract

The European Commission has appointed RPA to lead a major Framework Contract carrying out evaluation and impact assessment activities for the Directorate General for Maritime Affairs and Fisheries.

RPA Events

Nanomaterials Worker Safety Workshop

A small, expert workshop on ‘Ensuring the safety of workers using nanomaterials’ was hosted by RPA in Amsterdam during 29 and 30 November 2012. Selected delegates were invited and the output of resulting discussions are being used to inform a study by RPA for the European Commission, Directorate General for Employment, Social Affairs and Inclusion.
