New Contracts

11/2008: DG Enterprise has signed a framework agreement with RPA to evaluate socio-economic analysis studies undertaken for the purpose of chemical risk management.

09/2008: DG Sanco has commissioned RPA to undertake a review of the work of its expert scientific committees such as SCHER.

09/2008: UK Defra has commissioned RPA to undertake a review of River Basin Management Plans.

09/2008: UK Environment Agency has commissioned RPA to provide further assistance to the Thames Estuary 2100 project which aims to develop a tidal flood risk management plan for London and the Thames estuary.

09/2008: The European Chemicals Agency (ECHA) has commissioned RPA to review the use and release data for musk xylene and arsenates as part of ECHA’s programme to assess potential substances of very high concern (SVHC) under REACH (through a framework contract with DHI).

09/2008: The European Chemicals Agency (ECHA) has commissioned RPA to assist it with a REACH workshop October 2008.

2008 (ongoing): A number of private companies, large and small, have commissioned RPA to assist them to meet their obligations under REACH.

12/2007:  DG Environment has commissioned RPA, in partnership with Hydrotox GmbH and Milieu Ltd, to assess the impacts of proposed changes to the Biocides Directive (98/8/EC).

11/2007: North Norfolk District Council (NNDC) has commissioned RPA to assist with the difficult task of implementing the local Shoreline Management Plan (SMP).

11/2007: Scottish Natural Heritage has commissioned RPA (with Cambridge Econometrics) to quantify the benefits that the natural environment provides to Scotland’s economy.

10/2007:  The Danish Environmental Protection Agency in association with the Nickel Institute has commissioned RPA to prepare an environmental risk reduction strategy (RRS) for nickel and nickel compounds. 

10/2007:  The UK Government’s National Pesticides Strategy states that a knowledge base is required covering the amenity use of plant protection products. The Pesticides Safety Directorate has therefore commissioned RPA to determine the UK usage of such products in amenity situations, the key drivers and the extent to which best practice is adopted.

09/2007:  DG Enterprise has commissioned RPA to conducting an impact assessment of proposals for the improvement of EU Directive 2000/35/EC on combating late payment in commercial transactions. The study will include consultation with public authorities and industry stakeholders across the EU.

09/2007: DG Enterprise & DG Taxation & Customs Union has commissioned RPA to review EU legislation on control and monitoring of trade in drug precursors. The study will involve a multi-stakeholder consultation exercise in 2007 and 2008.

01/2007:  DG Enterprise has commissioned RPA to assess the impact of potential restrictions on the marketing and use of certain organotins.  As part of this work, RPA will be surveying the view of industry.

07/2006: DG Enterprise has commissioned RPA to assess the impact of potential restrictions on the marketing and use of Dichloromethane-based paint strippers and on the availability, performance and risk profile of the alternative products. Read more...

09/2007:  RPA, together with other European consultancies, held a very successful seminar and workshop entitled A Practical Guide to REACH Compliance

07/2007:  Defra launched a consultation paper following studies by Natural England on coastal footpaths - including a report from RPA.  

01/2007:  RPA is assessing the impacts of the EU's Cosmetic Directive and, as part of this work, is surveying the views of industry.

08/2006: DG Enterprise has launched an eight week consultation on the Globally Harmonised System of Classification and Labelling of Chemicals (GHS) based, in part on work undertaken by RPA and London Economics.
