Rocio Salado, a Senior Consultant at RPA, has degrees in Economics and Sustainability and Environmental Policy. She is experienced in the development of methodologies and their application to the valuation of health, environmental and economic impacts.

Since joining the company in 2001, Ms Salado has managed projects involving cost-benefit analysis and has conducted literature reviews and stakeholder consultation in order to prepare impact assessments for a number of projects concerning sludge, electrical waste, as well as other projects in the field of environmental economics concerning the use of pesticides and water quality improvements. She has collaborated in the production of a number of guidance documents on the use of socio-economic analysis for policy appraisal and risk management. Ms Salado also assisted with the assessment of value of the natural environment to the Scottish economy.

Her recent experience includes studies for the European Commission examining the impacts of changes to the Sludge Directive and assessing the implementation of the Noise Directive in Member States and assessing the impacts of new policy options. Currently, she is involved in a study to evaluate a set of Programmes of Community Action in the field of consumer protection for the European Commission
