Pete Floyd is the Managing Director of RPA. He is a risk assessment expert with over 20 years of consultancy experience. Dr Floyd’s experience spans the oil, chemical, nuclear, waste, flood and more general environmental sectors. He has led studies ranging from hazard and risk assessments relating to the manufacture, storage, transport, use and disposal of flammable/toxic gases, explosives, oil products and chemicals, to those concerning the establishment of guiding safety criteria at both the individual and societal levels. Dr Floyd has worked in many countries around the world, providing advice and support to government bodies, industry and other stakeholders.
Most recently, Dr Floyd has been responsible for RPA’s risk assessments carried out for Directorate-General Enterprise and Industry into various uses of cadmium, mercury and organotins. He is currently co-ordinating the UK Environment Agency’s Expert Peer Review Group covering chemical risk assessments produced for policy making at national and EU level. He is also leading a number of Impact Assessments for the European Commission on a diverse range of policy issues. Throughout his career, Dr Floyd has consistently maintained a reputation for producing technically robust work which is accessible to the non-specialist.
