Panos Zarogiannis is a Principal Consultant with RPA with a background in chemistry and environmental impact assessment. Since joining RPA in 2000, he has worked on a numerous projects involving the appraisal of risks, development of risk reduction strategies, regulatory impact assessments and risk assessments in line with EU and UK regulation and guidance for chemical substances. He is experienced in undertaking extensive consultation with industry, authorities (at national and European levels) and other relevant stakeholders.
Mr Zarogiannis has significant experience managing studies that resulted in the development of Risk Reduction Strategies for several chemical substances under the Existing Substances Regulation for instance, hexavalent chromium, bisphenol-A, naphthalene, and octabromodiphenyl ether. He has participated in several more including the Risk Reduction Strategies for zinc and nickel compounds. Recent work includes managing projects relating to the socio-economic impacts of (potential) restrictions on chemicals for sectors of the metal industry, for the European Commission (for cadmium and dichlorobenzene) and for the European Chemicals Agency.
